Tanner McEvoy...

  • I think the wr talk should stop. He obviously is a redshirt freshman but all the tools are there. He's definitely a pass first, run second qb which shows me some promise.

  • I thought he looked pretty good too although he throws sidearm...very mobile and athletic.

  • Some great qbs threw sidearm... Elway to name one. As long as he gets more accurate which he will.

  • I thought he looked great. Great arm and running ability. We will have a lot of great options when Connor graduates.

  • I think he looked good..but a little tentative. IMO he just needs alot of reps to become more comfortable. The kid definately has a ton of potential.

  • Looked good to me. He is FAST, to.

Did anyone notice that Connor looked even faster now? He is third fastest QB starter that I have seen in the country, imho. Can anyone think of anybody faster than Shaw, besides Shoelace and that idiot for nebraska?

  • He's more decisive all the way around as well

I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass, and I am all out of bubble gum.

  • trust in Mangus. he's done a great job at evaluating players so far, I think we can trust him.

Agreed. Kid has plenty of time to improve, and could be special at QB.

I agree. I think Nosovitch will be a great one as well, and Mangus is all over Olsen and Mitch.

I thought he was accurate today. He has big time arm & really throws a tight spiral.

Phillip Rivers is another one with a side arm delivery.

I want to be the first one on the Nosovitch to punter train, I can't let everyone else hog all the stupid posts. mrt

McEvoy is exactly what he's showed a talented, but inexperienced red-shirt freshman, if at this time NEXT year we don't hear talk that he's moved into the number 2 spot then I'll be disappointed, but until then I just want him to keep working hard, he's got the talent and eventually it will show out on a consistent basis.

  • I think Nosovitch would be an upgrade at punter. No knock to nosovitch. Why won't Williamson kick better?

    Kenny Stabler to name another.

McEvoy also made good decisions and saw the field well. Thompson looked good, but McEvoy looked better. I do realize this was just one game and apparently thompson and Strickland have been better in practice. But damn McEvoy comes to play when the lights go on.

Strickland had a terrible game. Two TD's to the wrong team although one didn
't count because he was "touched" first.

  • Since I am the guy that brought up Tanner playing received this coming season let me be clear. My point was with his talent and size as well as experience having played receiver, I felt he could help the team this season as a receiver. He's clearly 3rd string according to SOS at qb. Instead of sitting on the bench for another year why not get him some game experience at receiver it sure help a former USC qb. Never said he couldn't cut it at qb just that he was 3 seasons away from being seriously considered at qb why waste the next 2 yrs with him riding the bench.

So let me get this straight, i'm stupid for pointing this out but some here are respected for being ready to move Nov. To punter and he hasn't even stepped on the field and he's considered a much higher qb prospect than Tanner.................OK I get it

Spurrier said he is in the mix for #2 after yesterday. Syvelle Newton played NOTHING but qb his first two years. He changed positions later in his career. You are confused. They are being very sarcastic when they say Nos to punter. You are also confused about when Syvelle moved to reciever.

RG3 is faster according to his combine /pro day time. I'm sure there are plenty more.

You are right, RGIII is def faster. I was thinking of starters for this year, though, I am sure there are faster ones at a small school, or out west, I just cannot think of any besides those two.
