The difference between Thompson & Shaw?

    Well I was referring to the "it" in the PASSING GAME, as I clearly put in my post. Shaw doesnt have it. Just look at how the passing game clicks when Dylan is in versus when Shaw is in.

    Well the PASSING GAME was what i was referring to in Clemson 2011 and Mizzou 2012. Shaw looked pretty good airing it out those days.

    I'm not trying to take anything away from Shaw, but Missouri had one of those "weak defenses" some posters like to talk about when they say Dylan hasn't played against competition.

    Some people just take this approach:

    Thompson > Shaw
    Shaw > Garcia
    Garcia > Smelley
    Smelley > Mitchell

    See a pattern?

    In 2014...Nosovitch/Mitch > Thompson. Pretty much an exact science.

    I get it, but it's similar to a quote about socialism ("Eventually you run out of other people's money."). Eventually, you run out of quarterbacks who are greater than those who came before them. There is a ceiling, unless we plan to play cyborgs in that position.

    I can't disagree that some people do this. But....

    Dylan sees the field better.
    Dylan has a better arm.
    Dylan gets the ball out quicker.
    Dylan does NOT take off and run when the first option is covered.
    Dylan throws the ball away.
    Dylan is a better runner than given credit for(though Shaw is far superior in this regard).
    Dylan is a Spurrier-esque QB.

    This is why I think Dylan is a better passer than Shaw. Shaw will still be the #1, but as I have said in this thread, when it comes down to a two minute drill, there is no question that I want Dylan in over Shaw.

    When we play a team with a suspect pass defense, no question I want Dylan in there.
    When we play a team with a suspect run defense, no question I want Shaw in.

    And he has been horrible in a bunch of other games. He won't get rid of the ball, primarily because he doesn't see the field well.

    Can't argue with people who refuse to take the garnet glasses off. We are all fans but sum have no objectivity its pretty pointless to even entertain these kind of threads. BTW I agree, and feel the exact same way you do in regards to DT/CS. Unfortunately we seem to be in the minority when it comes to being realistic.

    Go back to my original point. I think having Dylan actually HELPS the running game. With Shaw the box is stacked because of the design QB draws. I think with Thompson you have to allow for more space and that gives more running lanes a chance to open up.
