Three-star corner talks USC tender

Three-star cornerback Shedrick Williams (Madison, Fla./Madison County) recently picked up a South Carolina offer and may visit Columbia to see the Gamecocks.

  • Those are pretty impressive numbers. Especially for a corner to have 80 tackles.

  • Looks like a solid prospect. 4 SEC offers. A talented cousin to boot.

    Spurrier...I appreciate him plenty

because it only matters if other schools offer him.

Are you a member of the other SEC schools 247 affiliates?

Maybe it would bring you some perspective to see the recruiting at these 'other' schools whose coaches you so desperately covet.

Hey, I like having you on this board. I just think it would help you see how successful our coaches actually are if you could see how many kids schools like Fla, Fla St, Auburn, jawja, and even bama miss on. Those are schools far richer in tradition than USC, and they have just as many failures as us now.

I like you, Al. I just think that your perspective is one in which other coaches are constantly doing things better than ours, and it is not the case most of the time. You put Richt, or Miles at USC when the HBC took over, and they are fired long before now. Those coaches live on their location, and off their predecessors' success. And, those are supposedly two of the best the conference has to offer. Put Saban here, and I think he tops out at 9 wins, just like he did at Mich St.

    That's quite a theory.

Putting down the program...in order to make an argument and build up a coach. I give credit to Spurrier..he picked the right people and put them in the right spots...got the ball rolling. His experience and contacts...surely made a big differance. However, it was not some supernatural occurance that Spurrier pulled out of his back pocket...like you are making it out to be.

In short the University got serious about winning in the SEC. They provided the tools..hired an experienced and talented coach and he built a program. It was difficult but talented people...given time and tools...usually succeed. There are more than one talented coach in college football...they can win here also.
