This is the best USC team ever, imo. But the best USC team ever is still not good enough to beat LSU at their place at night. Tall task for anyone, but the game showed LSU's superiority along the lines of scrimmage. But still, had Shaw not thown the int. that led to the last LSU touchdown, we still had a chance to beat the more talented team, on their field.
As Spurrier said they weren't pre-season #1 for no reason. Plus winning on the road in the SEC is tough because of the home field crowd, and if they are a really talented team as is LSU. If we are honest, most of us had this game down as a loss prior to the to the season opener. if our D wasn't so gassed and allowed the long TD we had a great opportunity to steal that game. They just need to regroup and get Florida.
I was really surprised our line couldn't pressure Mettenberg. The front 4 looked about how they did in the 1st half against Kentucky. Play calling was pretty bad in the 1st too.
I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass, and I am all out of bubble gum.
Taylor needs to step up. Clowney cant make every play. We didnt move them from the line of scrimmage. We got punched in the mouth over and over. Offense was way to conservative. Shaw runs to much. Had time on some plays and just took off for 2 yards when we needed 6 on third down. But still almost won a game we shouldnt have been in. This loss needs to teach us we arent championship material yet. Beat the Gators and everything changes.
Well they finally lost one. They've been here before and they'll definitely bounce back from it. The seasons far from over. The main thing i look at when they have games like this is the gamecocks are still a growing program i mean they had a complete 180 from years back and they are right there at the edge of something us fans had never even dreamed about seasons ago and we just have to stay patient. I feel that the fact that they haven't won a national title but that they're national title contenders goes a long way with recruiting because young guys wanna be on the first gamecock championship team. Our championship whether its the SEC or national title its coming sooner than later.
