Top 5 wants for class of 2012

But Latts will be a junior in Marshall's first year. You think Latts goes 4?

Not necessarily. IMO, RB is a position a true freshman can make more of an immediate impact than any other.

If Latt's projected first round after his JR year...it may be in his best interest to go, although he's the kind of kid that would stay to get his degree. Less mileage the better concerning NFL projected stud RBs...especially one that's advanced, gifted and polished in other areas of the game as well.

we need OL's worse than any other position. Roland is the top WR on our board in-state, plus I think we get Quinshad Davis and Javon Bell, so he is not on my top 10 list. I would love to have him, but I have other pressing needs ahead of him, taking in to account others at his position we are likely to sign.

I could be completely wrong, but I don't think Wolford's OL class is going to make the impact he led us to believe it would. I like Cann and I think Patrick can be a solid backup. Williams has already left the program and both Robinson and Gibson are projects.

Therefore, I have 4 top notch OL's in my top 10 list, because we are still wayyyyyyyy behind other top notch SEC programs on the OL. That will be the one area, along with the secondary that we need to build up quality numbers over the next two classes. At least we have some proven studs in the secondary.

We have Nunn, Rok and TJ that have proven they can play in the SEC. That is it. We are depending on a JC tackle to start, and if he doesn't, we will HAVE to start at true freshman. I hope that AJ Cann can win the LG spot. If he doesn't and T Campbell is in that spot, then we are really in trouble.

It is a shame John Hunt was aloud to stick around as long as he was and totally NOT recruit his position or even approve enough kids to give us some numbers to work with up front.

Personally I think Shell can help here. I think he can play as a TF.

  • You win in the trenches at this level! Cockfather is spot on. We have to sign at least 5 OL per class, because odds are 1 or 2 never pan out. On DL, you need 4-5 per year minimum also. If we can recruit like that and add a Smart stand in the pocket and take some hits type QB every year then we have a chance to compete for Championships every year.

Not gonna lie, I'm a little shocked neither Quan or Drew Harris made your list esk.

I tried not to show too much favoritism. I want both of them. it was a difficult decision.

  • I think Lambert and Lewis are big time needs as we need two big LBs's in this class and they are about as good as it gets to fill that need.

We need some speed so guys like marshall and bracey would be great pick ups, and we need another two solid tackles and a solid guard for this next class that can step in and compete from day one. There is a big time DT in the atlanta area that I would love to have but I forgot his name, we have offered but I dont see us landing a kid like that out of state.
