Who's watching? Palhares v Belcher is a good fight.
Palhares likes to tear people's knees apart with heel hooks. Those should be illegal. They don't even allow those in JiuJitsu tournaments. We are not allowed to use them at my school either.

The reason those should be illegal is they do not hurt until it's too late. You go from 'this isn't so bad' to ACL surgery in no time.
Belcher almost submitted him and beat him on the ground, impressive. Tried to banana split him, then tried the twister.

Boxing has WAY more serious injuries and deaths, its not even close. I do BJJ, JiuJitsu, its submission wrestling, but we also kickbox. MMA is safer than boxing, because there is no standing 8 counts, you don't knock someone down, then let them get up, and do it again. It is a safe sport, has about the same amount of injury as college football, or less.

Hendrix v Koschek is a great fight too. A battle between 2 NCAA wrestling nat champions. They are going to duke it out, though. Doubt we will see one takedown.
If we do, Koschek might take him down. If he is smart.

True, I guess no sport is 'safe'. There is a risk of injury whenever you engage in a contact sport. You have a referee in there to protect you. It is not 'human cockfighting'. You don't fight to the death. It is no more dangerous than football.
