UGA fans are the most delusional people I have ever seen...

  • I just browsed their board, its amazing. They are certain they will beat Boise St and us. Apparently they have many freshman and JC transfers that are ready to step into keys positions and excel. Crowell is already better than Lattimore, they have some JC DT (John Jenkins) that is 6'6" 340lbs and moves lie a cat. This guy is better than Mt. Cody, at least he has been in practices so far. Their QB is light years ahead of Garcia, and Ray Drew will turn out to be a better player than Clowney. Oh yeah, they have some Charles guy that will humble Alshon.blah ,blah, blah, blah.

I can't wait to pound their overrated behinds. They might be more delusional than Clemson.

  • I have several UGA relatives, one of whom is a very knowledgeable fan. The ones I know are not delusional at all. They hope to have a good season, but take nothing for granted. They are very worried about our game. Every fan base has its share of folks who only see the bright side, and some that see only the dark side (well, we have a lot of those anyway).

  • I don't agree with alot over there, but I still can't figure out why people are proclaiming our D will be so good? Until our secondary proves that it's capable of not letting WRs run free, we will be average at best. The biggest thing I think that will impact the UGA game is the run D. If they're depending on Crowell to carry that much weight, it'll be tough sledding. I'll take our DL over their OL all day

  • Just finished watching SC/GA from last yr on ESPN3.com.

They didn't know what hit them with Lattimore. Can't blame them either after just one game with limited action against S. Miss. They will field a better team this year and we have to go into Athens. We will likely fight an up hill battle in field position due to their special teams. They will be much improved up the middle with Geather/Jenkins but the strength of our line is on the interior as well. Should be a fun matchup.

On D, the loss of King will hurt GA. They can down play it all they want but he knew all the assignments and averaged 5.4 yr/rush last yr. Crowell's tape looks nice, and I expect him to be good, but no one will know until the lights come on.

Expecting another tight game where we pull away in the fourth.

I understand and agree with what you are saying to a degree, but UGA always seems to have an inordinate amount of fans that fall into the delusional category. Another part of the problem is that there are always a few media sources that jump on UGA band wagon. The problem I have with their fantasy is that they always have to slam us in their predictions. They look down on us like we do to Kentucky and it always gets me. They have no respect for our program.

In the past ten years, it would be hard to find a more overrated program. Every preseason it is the same thing.

This guy gets it, even if the song is 4 yrs old, it still expresses the point.

Warning: this song has some profanity.

my observations of a rare breed of backwoods rednecks. They call themselves Dawgs fans. They're as fairweather as a sunny day in May. I do not like Georgia, this is me making fun of them. Enjoy with caution

  • At least they've had some success in the last 20 years in the best conference in the country to warrant their expectations.

Can't say the same for Rich Uncle/Aunt U.

I'm not really too worried about UGA shredding us through the air. they have only managed that once in the last 20 years it feels like.

I suspect, like every Mark Richt game plan against us ever, they will try and run the ball and play defense early in the year.

    ....

Still there is a lot to what you say about our secondary. Hard to believe it could be that bad again, particularly now that they have fewer guys playing out of position. Have to find a safety, but otherwise in good shape. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing Gilmore there, but that ain't happening.

  • You shouldn't judge a fanbase by a few messageboard loudmouths. (Except for Clemson, of course)

  • UGA is where we were three years ago. There is some talent there, but it's scattered and not where they really need it. They are relying completely on about three freshmen/newcomers to carry the burden. This never works, as we all know. Of all our road games this year, I am least worried about them. We are better at literally every position on the field...except kicker.

Really???Don't be THAT GUY. I'm not judging anyone.

I just posted a topic for discussion. I just think it is odd how UGA seems to win the Preseason National Championship every year. Who are you to tell me not to judge a fan base? I have many UGA friends. Are you trying to be funny or are you just JERK?

Can't speak for Kelso Red, but I thought he was being funny.

He was making a point (and what I see as a valid one... most fanbases have a very wide variety of asininity. That includes our own. I've seen us treat other fans just as badly as I've been treated in crap holes like Clemson and Knoxville) and trying to be funny at the same time. I didn't take him as being a jerk.

  • I do think UGA fans are scrambling right now. It has been a long time since they felt this vulnerable. I know several that avoid talking football with me..that wasn't the case just a year ago. I never bragged after the win...in fact I was complimentry about their fine young qb.

If you want nutz..try talking to a Bama fan right now.

    LMAO!

I am projecting your golf game #1 in the SEC East. Why? Tradition, of course. Every year this time, I do the same. Plus, the coach of your golf game was really good ten years ago and you once brushed shoulders with Herschel Walker. Sure, you lost some important parts of your golf game, but I'm sure you'll re-load, like you used to do ten years ago

I don't think they'll be tossing it all over either. I think our run D will be the difference in that game. I was just making a general statement about people proclaiming our D will be 'great'. They have to prove it first. Until they show that the secondary isn't a glarring weakness, they can't be great. I'm not sure they can be worse either, but they gotta prove it first.
