not a big soccer fan but agreed it was a great game and a great victory for USA...but, nothing will ever surpass (in my mind) the 1980 winter olympic hocey victory of the USA defeating the ussr. to me, that was the best game and greatest victory ever.

Outside of the last 30 seconds of overtime I thought it was boring as hell. It is like watching women's basketball. They try really hard, and have a good play every now and again, but are about 10% as athletic as the men.

Just for the record, I didn't dis women or women's sports....I dissed soccer. It's the most boring game I've ever watched. 95% of the time they are jogging around the field doing nothing.

I think you could say the same thing for football. 5 seconds of fury.... 30 seconds of standing around doing nothing.

Not entirely sure that is even the best USA soccer game I have watched...Landon Donovan's goal to advance in stoppage time in last year's world cup was pretty awesome...However, I will say that this goal by Wambach is certainly up there with Wingo's bases loaded fielding in the CWS...
I would say this game would be the best, most intense, and exciting game I have seen this year.
With all the implications involved, playing against Marta (best woman's player ever, in her prime), down by 1 in over time, getting stomped int he second half, playing a man down for the final hour or so of the game...just simply awesome!

The real USC is the one that didn't finish in the top 25. The real Carolina is Academic Fraud U. South Carolina back to back Top 10. Got it.
