Update We are Coastal fans for a night....

  • That is the biggest prick of a coach I have ever heard of. He stomps on any little guy he can to get what he wants, and pitches a fit if anyone does anything similar to him.

Those players were the cockiest bunch of jerks I have also ever witnessed, with their little homerun struts and that one guys 360 dance, or whatever. I have never loved a man, except for that one time when Christian Walker hit that 3 run bomb in the super regional to send that bunch of pricks home.

I cannot be happy that they won, I just cannot.

I may get a lot of down votes for this, but I will always pull for coastal (except when they play Carolina of course). I was recruited by coach Gilmore in high school and he was one of the best guys you could meet. I may not have went there but I still respect the man for the way he treated me. Go Chants!!!!

That is a good endorsement coming from a recruit that ended up somewhere else. Good for you taking the time to point out what many actually know. He is a good man. I coached with Gary on the staff at USC-Aiken before he became head coach. We traveled around on the back roads of Ga, SC, Alabama and NC trying to convince baseball talent to come to AIKEN SC. LoL But check out the records, we had a blast, we won and we sent some good guys off to the pros.

Gary is one of the best and most honest human beings you could ever hope you son was talented enough to play for. Not only did this man take an outpost school with no budget for baseball and turned them into a solid baseball program that is respected through-out the baseball world (10 out of 11 seasons of 40+ wins, 10 straight seasons of making the NCAA's), but he is so respected in the Major Leagues because of his ability to develop players. In the last ten years Gary has placed more players in the pros than either USC or Clemson. The man is a great coach and even better person. At the end of the 2010 season he was offer a salary increase of $300k+ to go to a major program but he turned it down to stay where his heart is. He then turned around and gave $25,000 of his personal funds to Coastal for improvements in the ladies programs.

I have sent many kids off to all three major programs in SC over the years. If you look at one or two personal style issues you may not like either Tanner, Leggett or Gary but there are not three better college coaches anywhere in the same state. These men win, develop their players, graduated players and support other programs trying to get it going. All 3 men have given of their money and time to help lower programs. And they aren't afraid to play the little guys or the big boys.

From a fan stand point I couldn't be more happy that the best coach of the three, manages our program but the other two guys are good coaches and in the case of Gary, a good man.

I've heard people say Leggett is a good coach, but i have never heard people talk abuot what a great person he is.

Wait...are we seriously laughing at other teams losing midweek games to teams from smaller conferences? Really? I'm all for rah rah against the ACC and all but that's a tough sell after our last two weeks don't you think?

How about our last two years? We've got a little wiggle room I think!
