Update on Jonathan Weatherford from his family...

  • I first sent a message last night via FB to his wife Candace telling her how so many Gamecock fans are praying for Jonathan and his family. She has written me back a couple of times and has told me the following:

"Thank you so much. This is Candace, his wife, he is doing ok. They have him on a vent for at least the next couple if days, so his brain can heal. He is a strong man, so I am hopeful everything will work out. Thank you again for your concern. It truly means a lot."

I then offered to send her via email the posts of well wishes from the Gamecock Boards and she wrote me back:

"I have his phone so I will be able I read them. Yes we are at McLeod on the Trauma ICU floor. Thanks again. It makes my heart smile to see all the love and support he is getting."

So folks I will forward any posts directed to Jonathan Weatherford and his family.

I pray for this Jon! I was put on and induced into a coma after my aneurysm in 2003 to allow the brain swelling to reduce. I was induced into the comatic state for 41 days. It took me 18 months to work thru the speech and mobility issues going all the way into 2005.

Jon can overcome this but it is all about divine intervention and then, will on his end. LCD, please let her know she has all of our support. I am also happy to share context with her if you want to give her my email down the road.

He is in God's hands right now as to how he progresses initially.

  • Will do Duck. I hope to meet you in person one day as I truly consider you a friend although we have never met. You are a good guy and I am so impressed with all that you fought through to get where you are!
