Upset in high school football tonight...

Myrtle Beach goes to Nixon Field in Duncan and knocks off Byrnes, 28-21, in overtime. The game was delayed twice by lightning.
Interesting game for me to keep an eye on because I went to Byrnes. My mother is a graduate of MBHS....and I have some friends that are Rebels and Seahawks.

They still got to get through gaffney, dorman, and greenwood this year. Probably a down year for byrnes.

Big win for my future brother in law who is the OC of the Seahawks...Oline needs to shore up. QB's running for their life all night. Defense is nasty though and skill guys are good. Big win for the Hawks. Proud of em. Lot of adversity to overcome tonight.

I hear the Gaffney QB is putting on a show this year. he has 8 TD's so far this season in six quarters. 6 throwing and 2 rushing. Will Hunter at lexington has similar numbers as a soph. .

He added 6 more TDs to that total tonight(4 passing, 2 rushing) in about 3 quarters of action. He also passed for over 400 yards tonight.

Based on what I saw last week at Dorman and what I saw at Byrnes tonight this conference is Gaffney's to lose.
Gaffney is a very good team. They run the no huddle very well too.

Byrnes has to grow up a lot before the gaffney game in two weeks! Hard to believe It's been since 01 Conway since we lost @ Nixon field. Up 21-0 tonight had plenty of chances but hats off to MB they deserves this one!!!

Gaffney is very very good but tbey wont win the conference with dorman and byrnes because tbey are in a different conf. That will get corrected next year. By the way byrnes was leading 21-0 at one point.

You're right I had next years alignment in mind when I said they would win that conference. Id say Gaffney is the early favorite the way they have been playing to make it to state. Still a lot of football to be played though.
