Yeah, spot on analysis. We're going to have to do something. I really don't even know where to begin. I think it was a huge mistake to not give Connor Shaw at least the entire second half tonight. He needed some time to get into a rhythm and allow us to see if he can be effective. I've "argued" with numerous people on this board about Stephen's capabilities and his general play. Everyone has continually said he's a "gamer" and a "warrior." Well, he's got to have more mental toughness and focus. He just doesn't have the capacity to play at the level needed week in and week out. It's probably too risky to try to make Bruce Ellington a 2011 version of Syvelle Newton, but all these thoughts run through my mind at this stage. Maybe we start working on this now, and he could be ready to go by the Tennessee game if we don't get any improvement at QB. How Stephen can miss every deep ball he throws is beyond me. Just so frustrating to watch. We can only hope the play improves a bit against Auburn while the defense has an unbelievable performance.
Tony......... What do you think SOS , Jr , Coach Graham, G A ,and coach Elliott say in private behind closed doors about what's wrong with the offense. Just your opinion. Do you think they know and can't fix it or don't know what's wrong ? I mean really ...what are they telling their wives when she asks " Honey .....What is going on out there" ?
I know coach spoke to simplifying the offense.
Do you think our struggles on offense are related to scheme, play calling, execution or a comination of all three?
Specifically, can we execute the I formation drop back passing play action scheme preferred by the HBC with our o line and the QBs on our current roster?
Spurrier...I appreciate him plenty
