I'm thinking he has a breakout year - All SEC 1st team possibly
Anyone else believe he can go down as one of the great Gamecock CB's?

Every time someone asks Tony about Vic Hampton, it seems like based on his answer, that Victor has the potential to not only be an elite corner back, but his own worst enemy. I think the answer to your question is based solely on Hampton's maturation process. I'm hoping for the best.

If he can keep his nose clean off the field I think the sky is the limit. I have not heard anything but rave reviews about his talent but I always think of Ellis Johnson talking about him to the media as if he were a ticking time-bomb.

Agree wholeheartedly.
Everyone thinks of Hampton as his own worst enemy but note he has kept clean over the Spring and Summer. If he is the competitor I think he is he will go all out to prove the naysayers wrong.

Sounds like what makes him great has the potential to hurt him.

I was impressed with his coverage skills last year. Im just curious to see how he is on running plays. I want a corner that can cover but also come up and lay the lumber on running plays.

HB is considered a safety, i believe. Hampton can play on Sundays if he continues his last 6-12 month trends. honestly, i'm more worried about 15 yard penalties out of him than i am off the field trouble. i think he and the rest of the team has their shit together right now.

Hampton is a better true cover corner than Honey Badger. Plus we also saw flashes of brilliance with Hampton on special teams last year.
I believe he has the potential to have a better season than the HB

Gamble, a little, because his strength is always going to be straight man coverage.
I have heard that Vic has bought in hook line and sinker to the program now, and is trying to emulate DJ, AA, and Gilmore. It seems that he has found some stability in his life, and has adopted his new family. DJ is sold on Vic's commitment now, and that is good enough for me.

Vic is a true lock-down corner. He is also a very smart young man. Problem is, he has never enjoyed any stability and he has always managed to sabotage every good situation he's found himself in. I don't think he does it on purpose, but he's got some crazy in him. He's a Sunday player without a doubt.

What were some moments last season that stood out for yall?
I think I first took notice in the Tennessee game when he was covering Daric Rogers.
Funny thing about that game is he made Not Top 10 when he ran into wall, which is total BS because what ESPN didnt focus on was he well he covered on that play.
I also only remembering him messing up once. I think he was jamming a receiver and missed they scored a touchdown (Arkansas maybe?)

I know everybody hates Walt Deptula (and I agree that he has changed his tune about Clemson, which I dislike mucho), but he gave mad props to Vic Hampton on his All-SEC Selections... Not top two but basically said he was as good and a player to watch out for this season... I've always loved Hampton! This is my tribute song to him!

I say 1st team for sure with the type of year he is capable of having. They are going to try and throw on us for sure. OH Yeah! Come to think of it, the only time I've heard his name called since last season was by us and staff. And when I did, it has only been good things.

If he finish this season strong, goes pro even if its a 7th round pick, and not get into any trouble in a gamecock uniform i consider it a huge win.
