WTH is VPI thinking?? Why....

in hades would Mike Bobo leave his OC job at uga to take the same job in Blacksburg? Do those fools not know the dawgs are an sec school while the hokies are in the sinkhole of the acc?
Anyway, Bobo apparently has become the 2nd candidate to turn them down after Pep Hamilton from Stanford did the same

Thought the same thing. And he played and matriculated there. Perhaps at only $335K current salary and with a multi year deal, they thought they could turn him.

UGA fans hate bobo mist of the time. Probably were calling for his head after we pounded them. Maybe that assisted in VPI trying to make a run.

The ACC has killed Virginia Tech football it's not the same program it used to be and it won't be.

Yep. I always admired Beamer and the Gobblers' program, as well as their fans. But as it did with FSU and Miami, the ACC just sucked the life right out of it.

The thing that has hurt them this year was Stinespring and the fact that their Cam Newton'esque expected QB didn't turn out. Let's not be crazy. They are still ranked 13th in recruiting and have a good class coming back.

The more important question is "Why on earth would Beamer offer Bobo the OC job?" The guy had Matt Stafford, Aj Green, a ton of talent at WR/RB always...probably the best QB in the conference this season...and his offense is an absolute train wreck.
Bobo IMO is the worst OC in America. He'd be 2nd if Billy Napier was still an OC.

Many dawgs are blaming him for screwing up the last seconds of the SECCG. Most don't like him.

DHC, I disagree. How does a whole staff miss so bad on a QB then continue to play him. There defense was bad and there offense was painful now UVA has cut into there tidewater recruiting territory. Come on 7-6 in the ACC your kidding me right. I can only go on there here and now and there here and now sucks. Clemson has owned them the last two years and we know what there about. I lived in Virginia 14 years and can tell you there fan base feels the same way until they actually get a decent QB they are screwed.

I didn't realize their record was that good the last few years. They have not looked particularly good when I've seen them play. IMO they are at a crossroads. Either right the ship or fade away.
