We could beat either one of these

  • I don't think anyone could have beat Bama tonight, that's not to say we can't beat them next year, or LSU.

    I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass, and I am all out of bubble gum.

    I love our team. And we had a terrific season, especially considering the circumstances. But we are just not on the same level of these teams. No disrespect to our guys. BAMA and LSU are just that good.

  • I don't think the OP is saying we definitely would, but I don't have a problem with saying it's possible. I didn't see 2 unstoppable teams tonight.

    Yes and they were very good. Our defense is very good too and there offense wasn't very impressive. I'm not saying we would win every time, but with a big defensive play or two and our offense protecting the ball I think we could beat them. They may be better than they were last year but our team is better too.

  • Delusional but I love your passion. Bama has the best defense I've ever seen. As a matter of fact our recruiting pitch should become come to SC and we will be the Bama of the east because they need a rival! They completely decimated a team that destroyed Arkansas, Georgia, WVA and Oregon! To me they are in another league and we need to hope right now we can squeeze in a conference championship in a year they are reloading.

  • If you look at the head to heads we've played vs they've played this season, there really is no argument in stating that there is a significant gap. Nothing wrong with saying we have work to do to get there.

    The reason their offense wasnt looking good is cause of the team they were facing. LSU has the 2nd best D in the country.

    Richardson would have a field against us like most other backs have. Our Run D has been spotty this year and the kind of O-line Bama has, it would would be hard for us to stop. They would go PA after that all game. BTW they could win by Scoring 10 points on us.

    Their Defense this year could be argued for the best ever

    Nobody here thinks we are "better" than Bama! Could we have played them better than LSU did last night...probably so. It would be nice if you would stop insulting our team...there's nothing wrong with honesty, however, your comments are closer to insulting.

    Quotes like "Richardson would have a field against us like most other backs have" and "Our offense has hard time moving the ball against decent defense" are not only insulting, but inaccurate. I don't think we are better than either LSU or Bama, but I have a lot more respect for the competency of our team than you do, apparently. And by the way, as a USC graduate, business owner, husband and father I'm handling the realities and truths of life just fine. Keep directing your insults toward the Gamecocks, not me.

    Bama had the 5th ranked D in the country last year and we scored what, 35? I remember hearing that coming into our game with them (the 6th game of the year for them) they had given up 3 TDs total. We scored 3 by halftime and 5 overall. I agree their D is better this year and our O was less explosive but don't sit there and just dismiss us. We're a top 10 team with our own D that is in the top 5 in the nation. We can play with anybody.
