Wilds had 107 carries for 502 yards and played in 13 games. Most of his carries were the last 6-7 games (I am agreeing with you on your point).....Not sure where you are getting 20 carries a game down the stretch

    28, 10, 29, 20, 7.

Those are how many carries he had I'm our last 5 games down the stretch last year. In the first four games after Marcus went down, Brandon carried it 20 times three times.

Again, he's ready proven he can be way more than a 12-15 down back. Others could be better, but he's proven he can carry that load.

Then why was everyone so happy when they decided to redshirt him. Possibly because the coaches felt like he needed a redshirt year

  • Best thing we can do for our runnig game is to recruit an develop the OL

Because between lattimore, miles, and Davis being ahead of him he wasn't likely to get many carries?

My only point and this is not a slam on Wilds. I saw the potential but don't think 3 games shows to me that he is proven every down back. Granted that I saw some very impressive games but just don't think he is as proven as some on here think....Again I believe he has potential and has the ability but a ton of posters on here were ecstatic when he redshirted this year

How many games do you require? People were happy with his redshirt because they worried about wasting his talent with Latt and Miles on the team. Again, I'm not sure what exactly you need to see regarding Wilds, but I've seen enough. Your argument makes sense with Davis at this point, but I suspect we'll know by seasons end if he's got what it takes or not.

The rug really tied the room together, did it not?

  • Wilds and Davis will be our top 2 backs next year. Shon was good in hs but let's be honest, he can't stay healthy and hasn't shown anything in his 5 or so carries.

    Fomerly known as Garnet&BlackAttack.

This only proves my point further. A freshman in Davis was better than a RB that some on here are saying is good enough to be our every down RB. Again, I am not speaking ill of Wilds. I was ecstatic with his performance to end the season. The only point I am discussing is whether Wilds can be an every down type RB and at this time there is a freshman RB ahead of him....

He was hurt. And some are saying it because he's actual proof he has and can be an every down back

  • Everyone was glad to RS him because they want him to have 3 full years instead of getting 3 carries a game behind Marcus and Miles. He also couldn't play until halfway through the season anyways. It has nothing to do with him not being capable or talented. Similar reason, aside from the injury, that I wish we'd have found a way to redshirt Demario Jeffrey this year.

Had Wilds been healthy all year, and Carson, we'd have likely been able to RS Davis, which many people on here seem pissed that didn't happen. It was not a foregone conclusion that Davis was going to beat him out. Wilds is plenty capable of carrying the ball 15 times a game as part of a RB tandem, which is what we should want...not someone carrying it 30-40 times per game.
