Wearing a jersey while you watch a football game is like....

Mark Cuban has 50 billion dollars and OWNS THE BASKETBALL TEAM....so I'd say he is the exception rather than the rule.

Kinda blows the "polos" versus "jerseys" hypothesis earlier. Cuban wears the jersey and is "the man." He's not answering to a guy wearing a polo shirt.

Can we all agree that wearing a jersey to a game is much better than those kooks who wear all that bike gear as if they are lance Armstrong all spandax, even though they just riding around the area

I'm not Lance Armstrong but I've competed in over 40 triathlons ranging from Sprints to Ironman. Never seen anyone wearing a jersey or cargo shorts in those events, but I sure do see lots of technical apparel (i.e. spandex). Try swimming 2.4 miles in board shorts, biking 112 miles wearing cargo shorts on an old-fart beach bum bike, and then running 26 miles in a pair of jorts.., you might start to have a new appreciation for spandex.

  • I'd rather see someone wear a Jersey than see a frat guy wearing Costa del Mars around his neck, pink button down, khaki shorts and dock shoes to a game.

are Costa del Mars the sunglass holder things? If so, gayest thing you could ever wear. Man up

No. Croakies are the sunglass holder things that are Fratastic and terrible (unless you are on a boat) and boat shoes are terrible unless, you are on a boat or are older than 60.

The grown man wearing the jersey is the same guy yelling like a 10 year old for a college kid's autograph. The guy wearing the polo or dress shirt is making business contacts while tailgating. The guy in the jersey is shotgunning Natty Lights and propping up a plate of chicken bones on his belly. The guy in the polo sits in the club section. The guy in the jersey sits upper east, row 35. The guy in the jersey goes to work Monday morning for the guy in the polo. Of course there are exceptions to every rule but go to the Navy game next week and people watch a little and tell me this isn't very accurate. It's all part of a mindset and very much a socioeconomic thing.

i've seen more men in polo's get escorted from the upper part of the upper deck by security than i have anyone wearing a jersey

Spot on...I admire the tri-athlete - takes a great amount of training, skill, strength, stamina and of course the appropriate spandex wardrobe. Kudos to all who compete in that event.

As for spandex - wore it often back in the day (I was in much better shape then) ran in lots of 5 and 10 K fun runs.

The odd man out is that guy just riding around the neighborhood in his Lance Armstrong wanna be outfit "getting ready" for the tour de france.

  • You must not be doing something right if your wife doesn't like you to tear up the carpet. My wife seems pretty happy whenever I tear up her carpet.

If I had as much money as Cuban I could wear a jersey made out of bald eagle feathers and baby seal and it wouldn't matter. Would I actually do it? Probably

For sure. Jersey number 50, player name Bil.

  • Hey Steve,
Is your problem with people who wear jerseys at home, while watching the game on tv?! Or just in general?

For the record I think this is hilarious and I'm 6'3 325lbs of sexy wearing my #5 jersey to the games.

I am not sure this is the same. If you played football your whole life growing up playing for your school with your friends on the holidays just an all around sports fan if you want to wear a jersey who cares. No one plays for the law and order team as a kid or in high school. No one goes out side for thanksgiving to play L&O 80,000 fans don't go to watch L&O live. No one is a die hard law and order fan so how wearing a jersey to support your team is like wearing a cop uniform watching Law and Order I don't see it. I think your trying to get your attention for the day. How many threads are going to be started about what other grown men wear. Just because I don't wear something doesn't give me the right to judge others who do. I don't wear jersey cause I don't look right in them so people do some don't. I think a women in a jersey can be Hot!

I am all for women in jerseys

This thread really isn't about jerseys per se. It's about adults who like to wear costumes.

For instance, I have two .50 caliber ammunition belts that I like to strap to my bare chest and put on a bandanna while I watch the Rambo.
Sometimes, when I watch American Idol, I dress up as a ghey.
    It's no big deal.
