What was the first Gamecock football game you attended?

Mine was the 1993 Florida game. I was 6 and had very little interest in what was happening on the field. I think we were up pretty big but I really had to pee so finally my dad takes me, and by the time we got back to our seats our lead was all but gone. Florida of course went on to win, and things haven't really been the same between me and my old man since.
Anyway, what’s your story?

Too young to remember really. It was in the mid eighties and I think it was a team from NC. state...western nc, ecu or somebody like that.

1991 opener vs. Duke. Was my freshman year at USC.
Ended in a fraking TIE.

1964. we went as a family. Older Bro was beginning his fr. yr. at USC. Still had freshman beanie caps back then. Hillarious. We went down for the Duke game. I believe it was out home opener. As best I can recall it was a 10 game schedule back then. I believe the final was either 7 - 3 Duke or 10 - 7 Duke. That was back in the days of Duke being an ACC football power. Mike Curtis, Jay Wilkinson, Mike McGee, and a whole lot more made them a very good team until right into the late 60's. Then they became average and later terrible.
Stayed in the old Wade Hampton hotel on main street. We were from the Greenville area and got introduced to Columbia heat in late August or early Sept. Cannot remember which. It was hoter than a $2 pistol either way. Only breeze you felt was other folks breathing. Got hooked on USC football then. Been hooked thru thick or thin ever since. Students dressed up for games. Coats and ties. The student section pretty much emptied out after half time.

1982... Furman loss. The best part of the day was looking over the railing at the State Fair which was going on. Even then, I knew USC should beat Furman.

Richmond I think it was. 1983 was the year. I will never forget walking out from the concourse and seeing the lights and field for the first time. I was hooked.

I don't know for sure, I think it was the Hall of Fame bowl in Birmingham in 1979 in the cold rain. We lost to Missouri. Or it could have been Ole Miss. I remember going to a game against Ole Miss, but don't remember if it was before or after that miserable Hall of Fame bowl game.

Scout Day, 1957 against N.C. State. The game was tied with just seconds left and State missed a FG that would have won the game, however, we were offsides and with no time left on the clock, State was awarded another kick. They made it. I believe the final score was 29-26.

I think it was 1963,,,USC and Wake Forest. Dan Reeves as QB and Wake's big gun was a runningback named Piccolo. We came back in the 2nd half to win. Reeves got hurt. My hero and my team from that day on!

The first one I remember was the 92 UT game... Williams Brice was ROCKING!
Never forget that day. Great memory with my dad . I was 10.
I went to games before that but couldn't tell you who we played or who won
