DJ Baxendale

Baxendale. I've heard he's their ace, he's got 19 appearances & has the highest ERA of their starters at 3.07. He's 8-5 on the year & shut us down last time until we broke through in the 7th. He had no walks & our only hit prior to the 7th was a double in the sixth. But then we got four runs on him in the seventh & knocked him out of the game. He kind of hit a wall. The next guy who came in to start the 8th then proceeded to give up 6 runs (after Arky had answered for 3 in the bottom of the 7th). We needed all of them b/c while Koumas had shut them out through 5.1, Price would give up seven runs from the 6th through the ninth & take the win.

He usually goes to the middle innings, I guess. He has 102.2 innings in 19 starts with no complete games.

Their setup/closer combination is pretty impressive. Suggs has a 1.22 in 37 innings (on 29 appearances) to set up the guy we saw on Monday, Astin. Astin has a 2.04 in 57.1 innings on 31 appearances with 11 saves.

Runs look like a premium (as we've heard for the last five days) against Arkansas. Therefore, it'll probably end up a 15-13 kind of game since all the ESPN guys will have to talk about are the pitchers for both clubs who, as they'll tell us, can't really hit all that well.

Guess what DJ will also have tonight...the tight sphincter...the runs...ala Danny Hutzen.

I distinctly remember beating Garrett Cole, (Whatever his first name is) Bauer, Danny Hutzen (thanks to him being sick), and a few other studs in the CWS. This will be no problem.

We actually never faced Bauer. He was primed to pitch game 3 if they made it that far, but UCLA had to burn him to get to the title series.

You distinctly remember wrong then.

Bauer did not throw 1 pitch against USC

Yeah, UCLA warmed him up 2-3 times and ESPN gushed over him each of those times.
