Who would you pick first if you were a GM?

  • If You had to pick from the pool of Lattimore, Clowney, Taylor, MI6, Alshon, and lets throw in Jerell just bc of freak potential, who would you pick first and what would your order of these prospects be on your board? Thats alot of NFL talent the past couple years and we probably have alot more players ready to break out.

    Vanderbilt doesnt know whats coming.

  • Clowney.

Tho for Gamecocks Latti is the #1 pick.

  • Clowney over Ingram huh? i dont disagree, but what would be your order based on who has the best NFL careers by year 3 in the League? all factors constant

  • Ingram based on his athleticism, football IQ, and work ethic. The knock on Clowney right now is work ethic, but it's real early in his career

  • Alshon.

  • Latt. In his first two seasons, SEC east title and an 11 win season.

    Tempest

  • Clowney due to his freakish athleticism and practically limitless ceiling. He has more NFL potential than anyone I can remember in recent memory, and he's only a rising Sophomore. If he can avoid injuries and work harder in the weightroom and film room, there is no way he doesn't end up an All-Pro for years to come.

As a college player, I would say Lattimore simply due to having every intangible imaginable, as well as being a damn good football player.

But, if I were an NFL GM, no question that I'm taking Clowney #1.

Clowney is the biggest freak but the others are close as far as NFL potential goes.

I wouldnt say selecting Lattimore or Ingram over #7 would be a "retarded" selection

Well you're dead wrong but whatever. Clowney would go top 5 this year. He's a generational talent not a productive player.

  • dead wrong? ingram was more freakish than clowney last year. Clowney for sure on this team. My argument is Clowney is not THAT much better than Ingram like leaps and bounds as you are implying.maybe in two years, I will have a different opinion

Ingram is a tweaner with exceptional athleticism. He can have a stellar NFL career and possibly be a multiple Probowler.
Clowney is already a prototypical elite NFL pass rush Defensive End carved out of stone with the potential to be a Hall of Famer. He will treat the combine like a Tijuana hooker. Only left tackles and QBs are in as much demand as elite DEs
You are looking through Garnet glasses

i dont wear glasses, but I am envisioning an SEC title this year with this greek god we now have at DE. Carved out of stone...

  • At the college level, Ingram showed the ability to change games last season as a defensive player. It was one of the most impressive seasons by a defender in school history. Judging by his first preseason NFL game he has carried that ability over to the pros and already has shown potential to be one of the best young players in the NFL. That said I think Clowney is one of the few individuals in the world who has the ability to match that in a couple of years.

  • if 3-4 d then mi6 guy is a beast and great motor.that said if lite comes on for clowney which is scary to think then clowney. mi6 motor sets him apart imo. i love latt but rb's can be gotten later. alshon behind these 3 because im just not biggest wr fan. smash mouth football

I would say give me that group and I will start a new franchise.

  • I agree with Steve. As much as I love Ingram, I can totally get why he didn't go as high in the draft as he should have. The team that was interested in him already had to be secure at several spots and want him for his versatility. You'd be using him the wrong way as an every down OLB or DE; where as wit clowney, he will start as a DE and end as a DE in the next level.

Clowney would have been a top 5 pick in the NFL out of high school. He is that much better.

Clowney had 8 sacks, 12 TFL, 5 forced fumbles, playing 50% of the snaps as a true freshmen who didn't know the system

Ingram had 10 sacks, 15 TFL as a redshirt senior.

Ingram is great, but Clowney is a better prospect.

  • Let's just put it like this. The draft is about upside. Let's go best case scenario here.
Ingrams: He has a career similar to John Abraham and makes tens of millions, multiple pro bowls and wins a Super Bowl.
Clowney: 21st century Lawrence Taylor without the crack. Becomes an unblockable pro and a perennial pro bowler and goes out as a Hall of Famer who pushed for the all time sack record.
