So I'm not sounding as if I'm saying that strictly as a blindly loyal USC fan, I say that because as you mention, I agree that I don't think WR coaches actually do as much "coaching" as other positions. Great athletes actually need very little coaching. I honestly believe the best we've had and Clemson has had are/were going to be great if a fire hydrant with "WR Coach" painted on it was standing on the sidelines.
If part of luring Coach Spurrier to USC meant allowing him to have Steve Jr. on his staff, then Jr. as our WR coach wins this debate, hands down, with the above opinion not even counting into the equation.
Spurrier...I appreciate him plenty

Why don't you ask the coaches at Byrnes about Jeff Scott's hard work and great recruiting....

I'd say Spurrier Jr has done MUCH more than Jeff Scott as a WR coach. I'd say as a recruiting coordinator, Scott is somewhat better than Spurrier Jr. But by a very small margin. Recruiting classes prove they are fairly equal. Slight edge to the Gamecocks. So, would I trade them...no way.
Dabo and Scott seem to make a good recruiting team. But I can honestly say that there isn't one coach on your staff that I'd trade with. Heck, I'd say that about everyone from the AD to the women's Cross country coach.
