i just heard on the radio on espn that the big has invited both scholls to join their conference. let the moves begin!!

I think that's the best thing that could happen to us. I think the sec expanding into NC (state) and Virginia (tech) is a given but I really think if GT and NC got to the B1G it will hurt Clemsons recruiting in those states. They already have been tip toeing around the subject with recruits.

ESPN is usually late to the party and typically takes information from other sites/reports and claims "Sources" without crediting anything...

If UNC peels off to the B1G then I would rather take Duke over NC State. Gets the conference on TV's in NC, strengthens basketball, and does not really effect our recruiting in NC. They could move Vandy to the West and add Duke and VT to the East. Then Mizzou would be the only outlier in the East.
But whatever happens, I think we can all agree that the best outcome would be Clemson getting stranded when all the other schools finish playing musical chairs. My best case scenario is UNC and either UVA or GT to the B1G, FSU and ND to the Big 12, and Clemson having to try to pick up the pieces in a gutted ACC, with more raiding of the Big East to fill in the gaps.

I agree on Duke...do SEC teams really want another tough game on the schedule?

I am more concerned with our recruiting territory, as any of the NC schools would struggle for a while if they joined the SEC. Chapel Hill has the best chance to be competitive, but I still think it would take them a number of years to get the facilities and recruiting up to par.

Agree with all of this 100 percent. NC State doesn't move the meter, but Duke would. Gives us more exposure in NC for recruiting but without having to face a good NC team. Best of both worlds
