first time ive ever been aggravated reading the board

  • Played rec ball with Murphy and went to high school with Murphy and nothing in that thread comes anyway close to describing him. He's a great kid, everybody knew and loved Murphy. All this loser and quitter talk is pathetic. He loved it at ole miss but had to transfer to take care of his daughter and had other personal reasons. He just didn't love USC as much as he did ole miss and if you haven't heard a lot of the players hate horn. He thought horn was something diFferent not a lot of the players like him which is why we have had multiple transfers. Murphy would be a starter here and maybe the best player on the team. Everybody was excited when he first got here and now yall turn on him. A lot of sour grapes on this board IMO

Sorry, but only 2 players transferred from USC, and the only ones that have supposively bad mouthed him were the ones that transferred.........same thing with Sherman and the football team......sounds like they are the ones with sour grapes......

  • Holloway gave USC the middle finger when he chose to leave town and play for Ole Miss. He gave USC the middle finger when he decided to transfer back to Ole Miss. I'd say he deserves the middle fingers he's getting from the members of the board.

    Spurrier...I appreciate him plenty

No one would have mentionned him except that HE chose to comment on Twitter. Just not a smart thing to do. I sure that his short-lived former teammates at USC don't appreciate it either. He doesn't seem very TEAM oriented to me....a selfish guy for sure.

  • I have a Friend who runs an AAU Basketball outfit with teams from 10 years of age to High School. Needless to say, He interacts with College Coaches and mentions ours very negatively because of the way he handles himself. He also mentioned the same thing as the first poster and that there are more than 2 players with that feeling towards coach, they just were the only one to do something about it. By the way, we lost 3 players last year. Murphy, Ramon, Spenolla

This. If MH is such a great person, he would have kept his mouth shut. The fact that he felt so compelled to say something leads me to believe he has the sour grapes.

Going back to Ole Miss was his choice. That was his right and if it was what he wanted to do then go.

But getting on the internet and running his mouth about a South Carolina loss. Screw him.

It's funny sometimes folks talk about this guy like he had an offer from KY, Kansas, UNC or Duke.. He chose OLE PISS!! HAHA Who cares! They suck too

who is you? i had classes with him...in 7th grade, for realz. We were lab partners when we dissected frogs.

In those meetings with him I learned: Murphy is not the smartest kid on the block and lacked in some social skills.

So when he found out he didn't like USC as much, taking care of his daughter became less important?

Are you kidding me? Of course we were excited when he got here. Then he just turned his back on his team and USC and bailed. And what about taking care of his daughter? Guess he bailed on that too. It'd be one thing if he was classy and showed some respect and appreciation. That tweet was complete trash, and I hope he enjoys staying down in Mississippi. No need to come back to his home town full of passionate USC supporters if he's going to act like that. He showed his true colors, and I'm sorry you're in denial. If that's really not like him, he's free to issue and apology and explain why he'd say something like that. Not to mention, his tweet trashed our players more than it did Horn. Completely uncalled for.

Spinella is still a student at USC. As for Holloway.......do not really consider him a loss.....he was never really a part of this program other than playing the part of a practice dummy last season and taking up space on the pine in street clothes. Point is he never logged a minute in this program therefore, I do not consider him to have ever been a part of this program. Whether he is a good guy or not, he proved to be a mouthy little punk.

  • No one but DH and MH know the whole story as to why he chose to go back to Ole Miss... MH made a mistake last night in tweeting what he did... but I bet I made some tweets after that, that I am not proud of either... Ultimately, DH is responsible for the bball program... you should be getting angry at him, not lashing out at MH. Just my opinion.

While one may argue about the appropriateness of Murphy's comments (although the character assasination that has ensued, as an extrapolation of his comment, is a reach, in my opinion), I do find it interesting that NOT ONE OF THE CRITICS takes exception to the veracity of Murphy's actual comment. To me, that is MOST TELLING!!!

  • No sh*t, Sherlock. Holloway was in all likelihood going to be the best player on the team. Clearly his basketball talent would help us if he had his head halfway screwed on straight. However, I'd rather lose with the players we have than win with people like that in the program if it comes down to a decision over how much BS we're going to tolerate. Maybe it's a good sign of some of the knuckleheads don't like Horn. Remember how long it took Spurrier and the staff to get the right attitudes in our football program? Well, it's no different with basketball. I think we're finally at that place, so hopefully it'll only be up from here.

That's wonderful that what he said is true. I guess he could also go up to a kid in a wheelchair and say, "I can run faster than you" and that would be
    true as well.
It was a classless comment and shows a lack of maturity, true or not.

I actually answered this earlier, but my phone crapped out on me before I could send it, but let me give this a shot......we were 3-27 from long range..........Do u know how many 3's Murphy Holloway has taken in his college career......1!!!!........Can you guess how many he's made??????? ZERO!!!!! and sure, he could have made a contribution.....but everybody's acting like our post play was horrible when BOTH of our post players almost had double doubles!!! So Holloway can say what he wants......all it shows is that he's still bitter about the whole situation!!!

Well, I'm telling you what WG, who gets PAID to do what he does, and who I am sure is more well connected than you to the USC program said Holloway had a problem with Horn's system, and Horn wouldn't bend the rules for him. And told him he would be treated like every other team member........and if he was expecting some type of special treatment, then good riddance.......same with Galloway..........don't care if u started every game u have played in your life, if u don't have the guts to man up, put in work, and earn your spot day in and day out, then I wouldn't want you on our team!!! none of the other guys on the team had a problem with it!!! basically what Ramon did was the SAME THING that Jarvis Giles did!!!

    JRol003

  • It's like I tell people that work for me: Everybody gets one mistake on their resume, no questions asked. When someone sees multiple mistakes on your record, he has to ask if maybe it is the person not the jobs that were the mistake.

Holloway seems very unstable. If he cared that much about his daughter, he wouldn't have left her behind the first time, much less the second time.

Imagine that! A KID, showing a "...lack of maturity..." Now that certainly is a novel concept, (I won't even reference other examples of the same alleged basis for conduct, strewn throughout the Athletic program).

If he were reading this board, Murphy would certainly learn from the numerous sterling examples of MORE MATURE ADULTS, responding to his "immature" comment.
