  • We won. Tori Gurley had a 14 catch game and Brian Maddox ran for 135 yards or something like that. I got hammered up at the Wild Wings in the Vista. You're bonkers for not know what you're talking about. We lost the time before that when Kenny McKinley was still on the team.

  • They always do have a good basketball team..for our basketball to be nervous about them under Frank Martins first year is a little premature. They are expected to be and should be better than us next year. Give coach martin 2 years and we should be ahead of them and then could be nervous about them.

  • They are recruiting well, their coach plays the "Us against the world" card every game. His motto is "They might not like us, but they will respect us", and it is working. They actually played arky a lot better than we did.

    I am nervous, they are playing, and recruiting much better.

  • I have respect for James Franklin and it'll be interesting to see what he does over the course. They had a great recruiting class, by their standards, but programs aren't made from one recruiting class. They will be ready to play but the bottom line is we out man them at nearly every position. We have the leadership in place not to let success go to our heads, if we show up every game and play to our potential...then I'm not worried about anyone.

  • You do type like you're twelve but I agree. Certainly can't write them off. UGA (5 points) and Arkansas (3 points) both barely came out of there with wins last year. They lost by only 5 at Florida, killed UK and lost at UT in OT. They return 9 starters on offense (including a 2nd team all-SEC TB) and 7 on defense. Franklin will have them pumped to be in prime time leading off the year on Thursday night against a team ranked in the top 10-15. Throw in the fact that it's the first game of the year which never seems to go as planned. We should be superior talent-wise and assuming Marcus is healthy, Connor has his head on straight and Jadeveon and Devon don't miss the bus....we should out class them.

    It is certainly no layup though.

  • Last year when we opened up against East Carolina, did anyone expect them to blow our doors off in the 1st quarter? Did anyone after the 1st quarter expect us to turn into Texas Tech and roll up 5000 yards in the next 3 quarters? Then after that game, did you expect our offense to tumble around in the crapper for a month and a half?

    My point is that we need to have a healthy respect for and maybe a little fear of all our opponents. Our talent level is different than it's ever been. We will be the favorites in most of our games. However, in May I never know what September will bring.

  • Please omit your foolishness. We did not lose to Vandy the last time we played in Nashville. Maddox rolled over them.

    If you're nervous, go spraypaint the neighbor's bulldog and take a few Benadryl with your gingerale. Calm down.

    We have too much firepower and too many spirited bodies for VU to overcome. I do like Franklin, though--good guy and good coach.

    They could beat us. I don't think they will.

    Should respect them. They are in the SEC and will be fired up.

    But coming off of last season and all the guys we have coming back I see no reason to be nervous or scared of Vandy. Do you think if Bama was going to Nashville their fans would be nervous about the trip?

    I guess I must be bonkers because I am not nervous at all.

    Quit with all that logic and recent history MCR! You know there's no way we could possibly ever lose to Vandy....except for those several times that we have of course. How soon we forget after winning 11 games...

    Yes we did, I was there, Alshon caught that ball about 50 feet from me, I could even here the ball hit his pads as he had to trap it against his shoulder one handed. OP needs to take a history lesson.

    I am slightly concerned. Franklin has Vandy playing well and hard. Its the first game of the year, and its on the road. Crowd is never a factor there, but being the first game of the year, I imagine that Vandy will be out in force(whatever that means). This is not a trap game IMO. But if we start slow and dont get going, Vandy could win a 14-10 type game. Though I'd like to think with the leaders we have on this team, along with the talent we should at worst take over in the second half when our depth advantage starts to be come a factor.
