  • after reading the article, I still don,t see the reason to have mention CC name in the article. I am not in the know but I am sure their were other names that could have been mention if you were going to mention CC name in the article.

You would think, what happen to WS name in this article as he had more of a Miami trip connection than CC.

Sorry to be the grammar police, but I can't read that.

  • I love that the NC Sec of State decides to investigate agents making illegal contact with college athletes in North Carolina, while making sure to announce publicly that the investigation was not of any specific players or schools, but nevertheless, let's mention Chris Culliver by name even though he was only a North Carolina native playing football out of state.

  • Honestly, the academic stuff should be more of a NCAA concern IMO. There isn't much the school can do about something like this and it probably goes on a lot more than we know.

wasn't the agent and Blake linked, that's how this all started. It was John Blake behind the agent that paid the players. It is very much an issue

Blake had ties to Gary Wichard, who is now deceased IIRC.

  • I would imagine it's because of Culliver being from Garner and WRAL is a Raleigh station.

There may not be much the school can do about it, but, if the player received improper benefits while playing/eligible, it could most certainly be a problem.

  • I'm fully aware that it could be seen as an issue for the school(s), I just don't agree with it.

The only way to prevent this stuff is for the schools to have visibility into the players' bank accounts and cell phone records, which is just ridiculous.

I think it is because they have a text with an unlicensed agent overtly offering money to a player.

Sorry - I meant to quote an earlier reply as to why even mention CC when other players may have been involved.

Wouldn't the only way for USC to get in trouble here be if they were to find that someone affiliated with the university arranged this or had knowledge it happened and let Cully play anyway?

Considering they already completed an allout investigation and found nothing regarding this, I'd say they aren't likely to come back nd admit they missed something. Especially considering they all still cleaning the egg off their face from da U.

Uhh, Culliver missed time until the NCAA cleared him. We did this the right way, nothing to worry about on the back end for us.
