Florida is No. 1 in our preseason rankings.

stanford? head scratcher.....
Virginia's not even ranked. must of lost their whole team.
I'm looking forward to March 22-24 and extending our run against #1 teams.
Little hand says it's time to rock and roll.
The end is near. They don't have GT in the top 5.
They don't give a reason why Stanford is the number 2 team. I am not sure about that how can a team go from 13th to 1st in the off season. What players did they get or have coming back to give them such a high ranking?
Not sure how we aren't number 1.
Their rationale for the rankings is in a separate article, as linked by scfastpitch.
Yes, Virginia lost a TON.

That's what my link was to .
My bad, I didn't notice your link at first, just Whittle's, which only went to the bare rankings.
We lost the whole middle of our defense and 50 innings out of the bullpen (Taylor). Says a ton about our recruiting and national respect to be in the top 5 preseason. No doubt I think we deserve to be there but these national guys see us losing our center fielder, SS, catcher and second baseman you're not gonna be #1.

I get all that, but we do return our three starting pitchers and closer, as well as an all american 1B and most of the outfield. Thats not everyone, but that is still a very solid core group. I just don't see how anyone is unequivocally better than us, and I figured we'd get the benefit of the doubt. Ohh well, its why they play the game I guess.

I'm good with it.
Always nice to be number 1. But in baseball it is not as important as some other sports. If you tell me we can finish number 3 at the end of the year, host a regional and super, and get back to Omaha I am good with that. I like our chances if that happens.
