Hey guys and gals - Sorry this is a little bit late getting up on the site. There was Pro Day today and I've been up in Cary, N.C. at a national tournament. I'll have some interesting news and notes from that to pass along. Wanted to post a few notes from Chad Holbrook's press conference today.
-- The starting rotation is going to remain the same - Evan Beal on Thursday, Nolan Belcher on Friday, and Jack Wynkoop on Saturday. (I trust yall know that the series is Thursday-Saturday this week with the series opener on ESPNU. Holmes has never left the conversation of being a weekend starting pitcher but there are other roles he could have on the staff.
-- Holbrook said that he's encouraged his team not to let the Arkansas weekend dictate the kind of team they're going to be the rest of the season. Have to put that behind them and be ready to play this weekend. There are 30 SEC games and there's a long time between now and 30.
-- Holbrook is hopeful that Saiko will be ready to play this weekend but he didn't swing the bat until today's practice.
-- Holbrook didn't want to get into specifics but he said they were going to change some things in their approach at the plate in certain situations. At this point, I don't really know what he was implying. He did reiterate that he was happy with the way his team played last night at Charleston.
-- Curt Britt has the stomach bug that has been going around. He is feeling better today but it isn't out of the team just yet.
-- Holbrook verified what we reported on Monday that Jordan Montgomery's first steps of his throwing program went well playing catch with Jerry Meyers. He will throw a bullpen on Friday, which is the first big step.

Looks like Roy Williams was at practice today.
Will he be in the dugout Thursday night?
I think he will be in the dugout for vandy game May 4th
I heard them say on the radio today that he was in Columbia looking at some players and stopped by practice.
I'm just glad he didn't have anything else to do this week. Like get his team ready for a game.
