Anyone else nervous last night with our senior All-American Friday night starter MR's right elbow and pitching hand hanging out over the plate all night last night and cringe when he takes off for first? I know you can't "live in fear" but you can't tell me this board would not implode if MR pulled a hamstring or broke his right hand while DHing in a mid-week game against Furman. Had me nervous and I'm sure Ray wasn't 100% comfortable watching him out there either.

I understand the point, but you do realize Roth is left-handed don't you ?
Nice point. My bad. Still makes me nervous though. I must be alone though. Some seem fine with it. In that case I say we start Connor Shaw at safety next year against East Carolina.
I said in another thread it makes me nervous but you are right, you can't live in fear.
Roth loves that role.
If something happens while he is at DH you just have to accept that it was meant to be and it happens. We can't lock him in a bubble when he is not pitching. Can we? Maybe? LOL
I think he would make a good safety.
If I'm being totally honest.....it crossed my mind yes.
Yes it makes me nervous. Very nervous. I don't expect him to do this all year. However, there are plenty of other two-way players across the country, including some front line starters. I'm sure it'll be fine, but unless he really makes a difference offensively, I wouldn't risk it.
Shaw would make a fantastic safety. I bet he would be all-SEC.
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
I love it. If he ends up in the National League he will have to hit, better off getting some reps at it now.
