Barring a last second change -- the starting pitcher today is going to be junior right-hander Patrick Sullivan. He doesn't have a decision this season in nine appearances and has a 3.38 ERA. He's allowed 18 hits in 16 IP and has 14 Ks. Opponents have hit .290 against him.
Head coach Ray Tanner said on Friday night that it would either be Sullivan or freshman RHP Joel Seddon. Based on what I heard this morning, it'll be the upperclassman.

Any idea why Seddon has just a handful of innings this season?
No. I don't.
Tanner has been asked about it in interviews and he's basically said that Seddon doesn't throw enough strikes. I can't argue with that since coming out of the pen, you just can't walk people. However, he threw zeros on the board in his only start of the year. I'd like to see him get another chance.
It is hard not to go with the experience here.
Sullivan has pitched well for us. I have confidence in him.
We are not asking him to go a long ways. I'm sure Webb, Price, and maybe Koumas will all be ready to give us a few innings. They are all rested. Just need a few quality innings out of Sullivan.
I wish they would let Seddon start the midweek game. I would like to see him pitch again. He may be a guy we need come playoff time.
Is this a pre-determined split??
Don't know but doubt it. They don't announce that until just before game time.
Thank you..You do a great job...!!!!
This is what my reponse should have been. Ray has said on a couple of occasions lately that Seddon doesn't throw enough strikes. He's walked three in 7.1 innings, two of which were in a start he dominated against UNC Asheville. The other was to the only batter he faced against Kentucky - a full count pitch. I'd like to think he's not getting some innings due more to the fact that he followed up that UK outing with giving up a couple of runs to Furman. He gave up a solo home run in the first AB in an appearance against Vandy, got the next three guys, and hasn't pitched since. That was March 31.
He walked a lot of guys in the fall - I think he led the team in that category - but he also only gave up one earned run in 17 innings pitched. Didn't walk nearly as many in the preseason.
