South Carolina has 18 games against the top 16 teams in the country. Pretty strong.

Dubious top 10, in my opinion. Not that anyone really knows, but I see some teams with inflated rankings because of their name. UNC might not be as good as NC State, but they are ranked #1. Vandy finished strong last season but #3 might be stretching it a bit. Florida is way too high. Stanford, LSU, and Arkansas are probably about right. UCLA should be way up there but I'm not sure about Oregon State. Strange that losing Roth, Price, and Walker bumps us out of the top 10 after playing for the national championship, but Florida loses Tucker, Zunino, Johnson, Maddox, Rodriguez, Randall, Pigott, Thompson, Fontana, etc. after going two and que in Omaha and they are somehow the pre-season #7.
I am in no way, shape, or form accusing anyone of being anti-Gamecock or that there is any media conspiracy or bias against South Carolina. I like Kendall's work, a lot, but I think he's wrong on this matter.
Not surprising from Rogers about UNC. Rogers has had a man crush on UNC and Mike Fox for the past 12 years. He was probably either orgasmic or very flush while writing about them in this column. Never been a fan of Rogers because in all honesty imo he has some bias against Carolina. He may not say it or write it but I think it is there. He has never ever written about our program, despite winning back to back NC and going to the Championship game three years in a row, the same way he has expressed his opinion and analysis about UNC and few other schools.
To my knowledge he has yet to visit or even seen a game at Carolina Stadium let alone the Sarge for that matter yet he is almost intimate with UNC. The guy really has no idea how our program ticks and what has made it successful. Part of that learning process is visiting Carolina Stadium, seeing the games there, talking with our coaches, players. etc. I think all he does it look at a box score or watch a few of our games on TV. He has gone out of his way for UNC. He has been to games at UNC, he has a direct telephone line to Fox and almost acts a mouthpiece for their baseball program every year.
Long story short I think he has some hang up with Carolina.

Don't hold back Boss. How do you really feel?
LOL. Next time I won't.
Rank us wherever you want. We'll see who the best is in Omaha.
I don't think 11th is too bad considering we lost our 2 best pitchers, our best hitter, and one of the best coaches in the history of college baseball.
Something to build on.
It could be worse. We could be unranked.
I have no problem with #11. I just don't think he applied the same thought processes for all teams when determining the rankings.
I understand and I agree.
On paper Florida has all these high rated recruits. And perfect game is in the recruiting business.
But as we have proven in the past this game is not played on paper.
I really could not tell you anything about unc and if they deserve to be ranked that high or not.
