Couple of notes from Ray Tanner tonight ....

  • - Colby Holmes was in a sling today. Ray Tanner said there was some inflammation and the injury "may not be long term." He said it feels a lot better today.

    - Ray Tanner and Jerry Meyers will meet tonight to discuss tomorrow's starter. Said it could be Joel Seddon or Patrick Sullivan. Those are the top two candidates right now.

  • I was wondering if it might be Seddon. After the game, while my son was getting some autographs, I saw Joel bringing that "fake batter" out to the field and set it down along with a clipboard. Wasn't sure what that was for though.

  • PLEASE, OH PLEASE!

Be Seddon. I just think if he gets one opportunity, he will stay in there.

  • I would love for it to be Seddon, but I have a feeling it will be Price. He has only thrown about 6-8 pitches this series. If he doesn't start, look for him in about the 5th or 6th.

I actually dont think it would be a bad thing for Price to only pitch in 1 game this series. We need him for the postseason and to have a light weekend in the middle of the grueling SEC schedule is not a bad thing.

I would love to not use Price and Webb today to give them rest for the back stretch. I am not saying dont use them if needed, but it would be great to get a quality start from Seddon or Sullivan and then get a good enough lead to use some over bullpen guys(privette, Seddon, Koumas maybe)

  • I'm not knocking Sullivan but I am not as confident in him pitching against SEC teams as I am when he pitches during the week. If it's him, I hope he shows me that I'm wrong.

I am sure the plan is get as many innings as they can out of Sullivan and get to Webb and then Price. Both will throw a lot of innings today if necessary.
