  • The NCAA will give Purdue a national seed before they give another to the Pac-12. Unlike most favored northern teams, Purdue has earned it.

  • Clemson in our regional matched up with UNC for a super? When you consider we've basically played the same schedule, if we finish ahead of Florida how can you justify them getting a national seed over us?

Seems like people just give uf credit just because. People still saying uf should've won the title last year. It's annoying

  • I don't get the love for the tarholes and how they have a high rpi. They don't play fsu, got swept by a mediocre Miami team, and lost a series to a bad ga tech team. Acc is overated, and just bec they lead their sorry division shouldn't mean squat. Could someone explain that to me.

  • Still don't understand the UNC love. Go look at their schedule. They hardly ever leave the state of N. Carolina. Been that way for several years. Their high RPI every year is a head scratcher. Also, FSU has 7 losses and 3 of them were to UF. When are they gonna learn that the ACC is top heavy and those teams feed on the other 8 or 9 sorry teams. Ridiculous. Only way we get a national seed is to win the regular season SEC title outright, IMO. At least if you go by the RPI " gurus".

  • I wish the NCAA would just award the ACC a national championship so things could be as they should and every year we would not have to see things manipulated to the nth degree from the regionals. supers and Omaha hoping for anyone but the SEC.

  • The Gators' series losses to Arkansas and Ole Miss complicate the situation somewhat, since they are two games behind South Carolina in the SEC East, but for now the Gamecocks are the odd team out of the national seed hunt. If Florida loses the series in Lexington or the Gamecocks beat LSU to close the season, the roles likely reverse.

    Florida beat Kentucky.

I think as things stand now that South Carolina, LSU, and Florida are all seeds. Kentucky would be out.

But that can all change in the next two weeks. We have two very tough series coming up.

Yep, I was thinking we need to pull hard for Kentucky to lose the next two weekends. Unfortunately, they have road kill Alabama at home this weekend, but they do play Miss St the last weekend. I wish it was in Starkvegas, but hopefully, MSU can win a couple in Lexington.

  • Bump for updated projections from ESPN.com.

Here is the latest link. It now has us as a #6 national seed matched up with NC State. It also has Clemson in our regional(which i dont think happens)

ESPN just wants to put clemson in our regional for some reason.

They have done it since they started projecting.

  • Year in and year out ESPN's projections are the most out of touch I have ever seen. They really have no clue when it comes to college baseball and NCAA tourney projections for the sport.

I have been saying that for years. They played no one again this year yet once again they are talked about as a national seed because of their RPI. More proof that the RPI is flawed. Credit to Mike Fox and it appears now Elliot Avent at NCSU. They have figured out how to game the RPI to play it to their favor. You add a flawed RPI with a weak ACC conference schedule and you then get put in the mix for a national seed.

Mark it down. The Holes will again get a national seed and will have another weak regional. They will breeze through that only to be paired with another weak team in the Super and then make it to Omaha only to be exosed there. 2007 against us was the only time they have had to play anyone worth a hoot in in the Regionals and Supers and they only beat us because of self inflicted errors in Games 1 and 3.
