So just what does that mean on April 16, 2012?

    Knothole52

  • Our series losses to Kent and uf are looking better with UK and uf both in the top 5. I am happy with that ranking

    Just something to look at.

It means all you people who think this is such a horrible season just need to let it play out.

RPI means nothing to me. But according to the RPI believers we are in the top 8 so we should be a seed.

But if the season ended today we would not be.

Mid week losses are usually forgiven if you take care of the weekend.

Of course FMU lost does not count in the RPI.

  • Counting TAMU as SEC and we have 5 SEC teams in the top 9. Nope no competition here YIKES! Big series sweep this weekend to get us over .500 at the conference half way mark, and we got some credit from the pollster's for it. If we can manage one or being greedy two more sweeps, and no more mid week hiccups I think the LSU series could be HUGE.

  • go 10-5 the rest of the way in SEC play, win the midweek games, and 1-2 wins in Hoover...we are a national seed.

LOL...makes you wonder how some these powerhouse ACC teams would fair if they had to play in an SEC type schedule week in and week out.

Not if we finish third in the East.

  • If we finish third in the east and Florida and Kentucky are still ranked in the top 5 and we're all in the top 10 RPI then I don't see how that would affect us.

Because more than likely the teams with the higher ranking and series victories (sweep in UsucK's case) over us would give them an edge, and they're not going to give half the national seeds (if W gets one) to one conference. All USC can do is win the games we have. If the gators and UsucK don't stumble we'll be on the outside looking in at a national seed more than likely. We've proved we don't have to be a national seed to win the whole thing though it's a whole lot more fun to be able to watch the games in person IMO. If we don't get a national seed you have to hope you get paired with one who catches the toughest grouping with an evil 4 and damn good 2 or 3 who can steal the regional if the 4 can do damage (Pitching depth wise).
