It's actually a 7 pm game in Omaha, right? It's going to be a late one for us on monday, but it is a primetime game, and it is the best time for fans to get to the game. I think the players would rather have it at that time, I could be wrong.

Have they adjusted their schedule this year? I think the late games were at 8:00 EDT in the past. Is this a CWS or ESPN created issue. We've had plenty of 9:00 basketball games on ESPN over the years, but these CWS games are loooonnnnggggg!

I think the soccer tournament on ESPN has pushed everything back an hour. Don't quote me on that, but I read it on Twitter yesterday.

It also has to do with the first game being scheduled for 5:00 so people can watch them after work

And I always thought baseball was America's favorite pastime. My, how things have changed.

I'm a night owl and it was tough for me to stay alert until the end. I understand they don't base decisions on who is playing, but it's a shame that the late game was two eastern teams and it didn't start until 9:00 PM. Looks like after tomorrow night, the games will be no later than 8:00 EDT if we;re still playing. Fingers crossed.

I disagree somewhat. The CWS is a popular event in all parts of the country except the northeast and maybe the Pacific northwest. If you're trying to win the ratings battle in Chicago or New York City, you're not going to do it with college baseball but all across the sunbelt and much of the midwest, I would think it's a pretty well watched event.
