I guess this is our make or break day for a national seed...

  • If we beat Florida today we'll be hard to ignore for a national seed I think. Our reputation, stadium, SEC East champs, high in the poles and high in the RPI. We don't have an immaculate resume by any means, mainly the record against the top 25, but we'll be real hard to ignore. If we lose they can brush us aside citing the top 25 record and us winning only 2 out of our last 6. Big day.

  • It is important. I also agree with you Iv, about how good Vandy is playing, and about their coach being a dumb tater.

    Hopefully, our team will not feel any pressure and go play loose and have fun. We need Holmes to go deep in the game. Price threw a few pitches yesterday, so we need some luck today, if you baseball gods are listening.

  • Vandy is in good shape. They still haven't used who I think is their best pitcher. Beede, the freshman, has shown why he was a high draft pick. Still not sure why he decided on college.

    Beede faced a couple of batters yesterday, but I would imagine is in line to start their next game. I think he's battled some arm soreness the last two weeks though.

    seems like Vandy has a heckuva track record for getting high-draft choice pitchers to opt for school. Guess it's the prestige of that Vandy degree, maybe??

    That and the extra scholarship money they are allowed to give baseball players. Tanner ain't happy about that.

    This. I heard about this the other day and it smells. No way that's legit. No way we could get away with it and no way a revenue sport at any school would ever get away with it. We're all playing with 11.5 scholies and they're playing with that AND house money. No wonder they went from irrelevant to perinial power in about 5 years.
