I'll still never get trying to hit the high pitch

If you can see it better you should be able to see that it's a ball high. Especially a bunt.

I agree, problem is, you have about 1/1000th of a second to sort that out.

Any hitter will tell you that it just looks so damn good. When you're young, and it isn't thrown fast, that is the easiest ball to hit out of the park. It never stops looking good to you.

It's all about eye level. The funny thing is that a titty high fastball is meat but an chin or eye high fastball is unhittable, unless you're Ron Gant.

I'll never forget the bomb he hit off Smoltz after Gant went to the Reds. It was a 95 MPH fastball eye high and he hit it 400 feet.

I'll never forget meeting him at the ESPYs in 1996 (he was nominated for something) and telling him I watched him play for the Sumter Braves during a rehab stint, only to realize as the words were coming out of my mouth that the "rehab" was because he failed a drug test. Awkward moment made easier by the consumption of alcohol.

Just like every pitch. When you see one high a tight you figure out to not swing AND to duck. It can't be that hard to realize you shouldn't swing

A 90 mph fastball travels at 132 feet per second. That means that it takes one half a second from the time it leaves the pitchers hand to reach home plate. Even for the young that isn't much time to react.
