You should NEVER have to go to the pen with a lead that big but Ray Tanner continues to have his staff ill prepared and lacking focus, I guess! I know it was a big win and I'm happy but I have to be a realist and call it like I see it and even though we're a top 5 team and just hung 3 TD's and a FG on a good team that was a blown call from being in the Supers last year, this team has issues and leaves a lot to be desired! But hey, I'm still a fan and I put in lots of exclamation points to prove it!

Don't forget that Sullivan came in with the bases loaded and no outs and proceeded to give up 1 run. That kind of performance from the bullpen won't cut it either.

In defense of our starter, Colby Holmes, or any pitcher hurling with a huge lead and long periods of time between innings, is going to lose concentration as the game progresses. Although Colby was pretty efficient through six innings, he might have been getting a little tired and that impacts concentration as well. CofC has some good hitters. I am not certain, but it may have been the longest stint of his career at USC.
