Base running errors should earn you a month out of the lineup. Easiest part of the game and we mess it up once a week. Freshmen is not an excuse. You learn this in little league.

What is bad is looking bad. And unfortunately we have looked bad alot even in wins. Having 4 hits against most teams is bad, it is exceptionally bad against fmu. Couple that with the base runners brain farts in the eighth and you have what we are right now which is losing to a far inferior team.

there is no subtitute for experience.....2 freshman just made terrible mistakes. Book your reservations to Omaha in 2014 however. Bank that.

Spot on wadiack. I think Costen and English are going to get an ear full of knowledge and bucket full of base running drills tomorrow. English broke the golden rule ... you run as hard as can until the umpire says out. That's as basic as baseball gets.
We're feeling the pain of youth. I think they all rebound soon.

This shouldn't be surprising. We haven't hit very well all season with RISP, the walks have been there, and we've played a lot of bad baseball. This is a youngish team that will get to do some growing up this year. I still think we make it to the post season but they are going to have to figure something out to host a regional. Good thing is baseball is a long season and we've got a ways to go yet. No panic button yet but the finger has been hovering over it for a bit though.
