My guess for our regional...

  • I won't call it a projection because I'm not looking at RPI but I am looking at distance to travel.

    #1 South Caroliina
    #2 Miami
    #3 College of Charleston
    #4 Army

Normally Miami would probably stay closer to home but it looks like UCF will also be a #2 seed and Miami can't go to Tallahassee. Maybe they go to Gainesville and UCF goes to Tallahassee. We could get Georgia Tech, who I really don't think is very good, but they'll probably get to go to somewhere like Kentucky.

#3 makes sense but if Coastal is a #3 it could be them. I think they might be a #2 somewhere. Chapel Hill will probably get them as a #2 instead of a more legitimate team like East Carolina, Vandy, or Miss State.

#4 is a total guess. Could be Sacred Heart from Connecticut, or it could be Cornell, from New York. Obviously could be any number of others, but most of the projections I've seen show #4 teams staying pretty close to home - within a couple of states anyway - but there aren't many southern #4 seeds.

Miami usually stays in Florida. But they have been in Columbia before as we all know.

I was thinking we might get Georgia Tech. Or maybe Wake Forest. I believe we will get an acc team.

You think CofC is still in? 0-2 had to hurt them a little. I hope they get in.

I was really hoping Liberty would beat Coastal yesterday. I wanted to see Toman and Liberty get in. Maybe make a trip to Columbia.

  • I have read stuff from the "experts" suggesting that C of C still gets in. However, App State is in and C of C is probably in competition with Georgia Southern, Samford, and Elon for a bid. I don't know if the SoCon could earn 3. Probably not, but like I said, I have no idea what the RPI for those teams is.

I actually had Ga Tech down as our #2 but something tells me they aren't good enough. We normally get a stout #2.

I think that Army is higher than a 4 seed.

  • They have some outstanding pitchers but I'm guessing their RPI is low. Most projections have them low.
