I'm pumped about our regional for several reasons. 1. I love beating clemson and do feel we are by far the better team this season. 2. I dislike coastal as well and will enjoy beating them if they beat clemson.
I love this part of college baseball, it really doesn't matter now what we did since february the season starts all over. I wouldn't rather have anyone leading the charge than Ray Tanner. I saw Whittle put on twitter yesterday we were starting 2 a days like he typically does and I fully expect us to turn it around like we have the past 2 season when the NCAA tournament starts. Will we get lucky and catch some breaks like we have the past couple years who knows but I like our chances.
I know pitching depth is a concern but who knew Roth was going to do what he did 2 years ago?!? We have guys that are capable of a quality start and Ray can get it out of them this time of year. I think Seddon, Beal, Mongomery, Holmes, Belcher, Hopefully Koumas and of course Roth gives us a great chance with a huge list of guys that could potentially start a game this post season. Webb and Price being the bullpen anchors we will need some of the guys above to eat some innings and save Price for an inning most of the time.
I know we only batted 272 this year and that is down from last year but all that matters is the next 3.5 weeks. I think this group is capable of getting warm at the right time with the bats and being more explosive than we have been in the past even. I love the matchups with our regional and UVA I think we are VERY CAPABLE of winning both the regional and super and if we make it to Omaha this season after back to back NC my word that is incredible. If you get there then you get greedy and who knows what will happen, but any time Christian Walker is in there I feel we have a chance. If I had to bet my house or life on a 3 peat I wouldn't pull the trigger but I really do think this team is capable of doing something special again. It has been a great ride now lets enjoy it and hope for the best. 3peat
