Class of 2014 infielder Jared Williams (Gilbert/Gilbert) has committed to South Carolina. He is ranked as the No. 2 second baseman in the 2014 class by Diamond Prospects. He put up some strong numbers as a sophomore playing at both second base and shortstop. He hit .420 with 18 walks and only eight strikeouts in 88 at-bats. He was also 14-of-18 on stolen base attempts. He plays his showcase baseball with the Diamond Devils.

Just found out a friend of ours is Jared's cousin. She remembered what great athletes both his parents were in high school.
