Roberts picks South Carolina

  • Bills not from Wilson Hall, I think he went to Wade Hampton which is now OPS.

  • I've been meaning to weigh in on this travel ball conversation. I see both sides of it. No, these teams don't get together very often and practice but to think there isn't instruction going on there is pretty silly, too. I'm around it a good bit and while they don't go hit ground balls for two hours, coaches go to the cages and give instructions on swings. They have pitchers throw bullpens and coach 'em up there. The high schools is where most of these guys get their most practice time in. Travel ball is where most of the players really perfect their skills. There are great high school coaches out there that give better instruction than some travel ball coaches. There are a lot of craptacular high school coaches out there, too, that don't know a baseball from a football.

I don't think many would argue the point that the main reason they're on travel ball teams is for exposure though and not instruction.
