South Carolina vs. Arkansas ....

For the first time in four years, I'm missing an SEC series. The last two years, I've missed four total games. This is new for me, but I'm not at Arkansas. The game tonight is on ESPNU and tomorrow's game is on ESPN2. Be sure you watch.
This thread is for a running discussion amongst all of us about the game. Please post your thoughts below as the game goes along. I'll be a little more interactive in the thread than usual. I'll also link the running game thread that our Arkansas site will do so you can check out their coverage. They do a great job of covering baseball on that site, and we'll post their story from the game with reaction.

This game is going to be incredibly difficult to win after giving up three in the first inning. Roth really needed his best tonight and he's missing up a good deal. Stanek is on his game. Long way to go, but I don't have a real good feeling about this one at this point.

I was told by a Georgia player this week that Arkansas easily has the best pitching staff in the conference with the amount of quality arms they can come at you with. That includes Florida and LSU. High praise.

Everything when you say that we are kicking it around already...like we are a bad defensive team. Only Florida has fewer errors in the SEC than we do with 35.

You obviously don't watch a lot of baseball. How many assists does our middle have - give you a hint about 30% less than not one - but every other team in the conference. If you can't get to it - hard to make errors. Vergason is a 7.5 60 runner according to pro scouts - slowest middle guy with the worst feet I have seen.

I go to every game at home and have seen every other on TV or on line. You are wrong about Vergason... he is our best middle infielder by far. He just made only his 2nd error of the year and has helped our ability to turn double plays since he has been a full time player. Try to understand what you are talking about without just talking out of frustration.

You don't see runners tag from second and score very often. Poor sense of urgency and execution. You try and give a guy a benefit of the doubt, but theres just no justifying a play like that. There's nothing that can be said other than bad baseball.

Not frustrated - said it 4 weeks ago. Can't play - sorry if you can't see it. I am not comparing him to Wingo either - just average 2nd baseman.
