  • I have several questions. First of all, why do they play in Hardeeville? Secondly, why is there a baseball complex in Hardeeville? Thirdly, who the heck is Richard Gray and why is there a baseball complex in Hardeeville named after him? Finally, how the heck was it determined that Hardeeville would host a regional? There's nothing in Hardeeville but some hotels, gas stations, and a couple of fast food restaurants.

  • They didn't have a field on campus. The main campus is in Bluffton now and they didn't want to share a field with Bluffton High School. Hardeeville is about 7 miles from the Bluffton campus. Richard Gray is a businessman in Beaufort who donated money to the Hardeeville recreation department to build the fields, thus named after him.

    They really need an on campus baseball field as it is right next door to Sun City Hilton Head which has 8,000 retiree homes. They could draw a ton of fans from Sun City if they built an on campus field. Looking to do it just need a sponsor or some money. Hopefully a trip to the World Series will help out.
