When a team beats South Carolina in baseball

  • It is like beating Kentucky in basketball or Alabama in football. They are going to celebrate a little more. And when it is a walk off then the celebration is even greater.

We have to learn as fans and as a team to take it as a compliment that it means so much to them.

That being said I believe Kentucky went a little over the top. It looked like when they started jumping up and down at home plate last night they moved that pile closer and closer to our dugout and I feel like there was probably some talk coming from them towards our guys. We are a competitive bunch of guys and we are just not going to stand by and listen to it. So it got a little heated. Just words back and forth.

Maybe this will fire us up a little bit today. Could get interesting.

  • I miss Adrian. He'd be in their ears all day today. We'll see who has his feistiness.

I told someone on the bus last night that Morales would take care of this if he was on the team.

  • Should be taken care of on the field, little heat inside, a couple hard slides nothing dirty and maybe a hard tag or two.

I think Beal has shown the most potential for feistiness. Did you see him sneer at the leadoff hitter in the 9th that turned into the pitch? That being said, it's hard for a relief pitcher to be the guy to take care of things on a team, especially when he's a freshman. This will be interesting to watch. I think Price has it in him.

Christain Walker will let them know how he feels as well. If you watch him, when someone is on first, he quietly jaws at them constantly. I wish I knew what he discusses with them.

It does not need to be about revenge. It needs to be about good solid baseball and getting things fine tuned.

I hope when we win today we just walk over and shake their hands. No glove throwing, no piling on each other, no pounding of the heart towards their dugout. Just win with class like we have been there before. I guess they have not.

  • Baseball is a game in which emotion costs you fundamentals and discipline. Emotion in the dugout is great, no so much on the field or in the batter's box. Focus is the name of the game.

  • takes some gettting used to..just saw the photo from Juan with the kid throwing his glove..makes ya appreciate Tanner even more. That kid wouldn't play for Tanner even if he was good enough. Disrespecting the game right there.
