  • It might be football season but there is also ways something going on in basketball for the good or bad...

    I saw your Tweet that UNC has now offered Brice Johnson. It seems everybody wants him now. And I saw that NC State is in his top five. I didn't even know they had offered!

    Do you still think it will come down to USC and Clemson?

    Do you have a sense that Carolina is the favorite to land either?

    Do you think the staff wants to take three in this class? If so would they rather the third be a guard or a big, do you think?

    (I would lean big given roster, recent signees and the targets in the following class)

    I don't mind barnstorming south Carolina, but hard time understanding playing at elon.

    Yes, South Carolina/Clemson with Florida as the dark horse.

    I'm going to go with August 9th for Gaines :)

    Not sure on Johnson, lots of conflicting info. His recruitment is turning strange because there is a lot of info out there.

    Right now the goal is to take two and then see who else is available and interested that could help the program.

    Not an official one but it seems that everybody I have spoken with are pretty confident he will get his waiver. (Based on his reasons I believe he should be allowed to)

    They are on his list of over 40+ offers. Kansas offered last night I believe.

    We will see but I would say that South Carolina is a long shot. I don't think he can play point guard, he is more of a scoring wing.

    It's part of a 2-for-1 deal. As long as Darrin Horn is here I expect to see more of this over the next few schedules. It is something that is becoming a little more popular though among a good deal of schools.

    They will watch him, he is down the list a little bit though. If they miss on a few more players like Walker, Carlos Morris or Shawn Smith I could see them becoming more involved.

    It is nearly impossible to get a good read on Johnson. I was told in July that there was a good chance he was coming to South Carolina despite what was being said in public. I do not think that to be the case anymore. I know the Clemson staff is very confident as is Ohio State and Florida. He has told five schools they are in his top three. It's anybody's guess as to what is going on.

    Right now South Carolina would love to add either Carlos Morris, Shawn Smith or Devon Walker as their wing player in this class.

    I am not sure there is anybody that I would say I feel comfortable enough projecting to South Carolina, so it is hard to take a guess who could be the first commitment.
