I posted this in another thread about after watching Indiana today how long I think it will take to be an NCAA Tourney type team, I will post again to generate discussion throughout the game.:

After watching Indiana today I would say four years, maybe even five.

As crazy as it sounds, Indiana was on probation from when Kelvin Sampson got caught. In his first three years rebuilding that team Crean went 6-25, 10-21 and then 12-20.

Now he has gotten his recruits in there, his system is finally in place and last year they went 27-9 and of course now are rolling (22-3).

While South Carolina is technically not on probation, there situation is not much better if any than when Crean took over. Given that Indiana is a name brand basketball team and recruiting is a little easier it still took three years and a lifelong Hoosier fan (Cody Zeller) to really get them going.

I would look at it and say that P.J. Dozier could be Martin's equivalent of Zeller.

I can see next year being slightly better but not to much, then year 3 competing for the NIT and Martin's fourth year having a chance for the NCAA.

Watching and really studying Indiana today opened my eyes to how long this process could end up being for South Carolina.

I am watching from the man cave here in Lexington (S.C).
