About an hour and 15 minutes away from tip off. Some of the Garnet Army was outside getting their t-shirts and some free pizza as I wandered in.
The game is on ESPNU at 9:00 p.m. Feel free to join in and offer insight as to what you see.

Starting line up for the Gamecocks is:
Very solid turnout by the Garnet Army tonight.
I'll take the Commodores tonight. I don't think they will hit the 80 point mark but they will make some plays down the stretch and the Gamecocks will have one drought that cost them. So I'll say 75-65 Vanderbilt.
Bad start to the game as South Carolina as bad shot selection and losing Jeffery Taylor leads to an early 6-2 deficit at the 15:33 mark
Malik Cooke has to be more of a factor with the line up that is currently on the floor.
Ellington and Leonard check in for South Carolina. Those two need to develop into the starting back court for the Gamecocks to be competitive in SEC play.
Damontre Harris with a solid start, he grabs an offensive rebound and hits a nice turn around off the backboard. Harris is really developing right now and has played extremely well the past few weeks.
Gamecocks come right back with four point of their own, game tied at 6 now with 11:35 to go.
Geez we need a backup pg.
Gamecocks again struggling from the field to start the game. They are playing some solid defense though. Doing a good job of shadowing John Jenkins and trying to be physical with him.
6'8 Anthony Gill the person checking him right now.
Vanderbilt retakes a 3 point lead 11-8 with 7:54 to go in the half.
Smith is playing horrible in all phases. Terrible shooting, refuses to make an easy entry pass into the post etc...
Gamecocks have opened 4-of-17 from the floor. Similar to the Kentucky game in that they are hanging around despite the horrendous start. Somebody has to step up and be a spark, Ellington drives in the lane, tosses up an air ball but Harris grabs it and makes an athletic play to get it back in the basket.
Harris with 6 early points.
Nearly 15 minutes into the game and Malik Cooke has yet to score. Appears the scouting reports are starting to find him night in night out.
Cooke gets tied up going for a loose ball and comes up limping. He will head to the locker room with an apparent ankle injury. Brad Tinsley gets open for a three pointer as the Gamecocks are focusing on Jenkins who has just two points in the half.
3:17 to go in the half, Vanderbilt leads it 18-10.
To win we have to make shots. It sounds elementary, but watching us shoot bricks every game is depressing. Love our teams effort, but I am sick of athletes playing basketball.
Very crappy first half offensively. If you can't score, you can't win. Cooke stunk up the court. Nothing at all from him. Smith was awful. Gill shot very poorly. Harris was our only guy who played well on the offensive end. One guy won't get it done. Slawson had 2 fouls and no points. Leonard and Richardson had goose eggs. Absolutely awful.
Wow..........why do they put us on tv? Embarassing! We need players who can move, create a shot and more importantly.....make a shot. We look like the Bates family out there the way we move........
I am not sure the stats are correct, they have the Gamecocks shooting 5-of-26 in the half however by my count it was 5-of-28. I guess it really doesn't matter at the end of the day. They didn't have trouble getting the number of shots that went in.
Vanderbilt only took 15 shots but made eight of them.
22-12 Commodores at the half.
Wtf......12 pts at the half
Anybody know the subconscious score?
5-26 shooting. 0-8 on threes. Our guards combined for 2 points. That's right, 2 points in a whole half from all of our guards combined.
Put Brenton Williams in the game. Maybe he can make a shot. Heck put the walk-on in.
Ellington gets the start in the second half over Eric Smith.
John Jenkins gets hot and hits back to back three's in transition and th elead goes from 26-15 to 32-15 in the blink of an eye.
Last possession, Damontre Harris went to the floor and was slow to get back up.
Difficult to watch. I hope they get better. This is sad to see our basketball program perform at such a low level.
Most empty seats I've ever seen
We just got our first assist at the 9:00 minute mark of the 2nd half. Gotta love that ball movement.
The refs are def on our side tonight.
Well I said 75-65 and the final was 67-57, I had the correct deficit. Ellington goes for 20 points, Gamecocks now 0-2 in conference play 8-8 on the season.
Too little too late. If we had played the first half like the second half, we would have been right in there. The horrible first halves are killing us. And, our defense was much too poor, for the second game in a row.
