Let me break it down for you.... last year you had 6 guys with experience at this level. And 5 guys with zero experience at this level. This year you've got 7 guys with experience at this level and 4 guys with zero experience at this level. Thus, this years team is more experienced. Or look at it another way....per year experience is worth '1'... last year you had two seniors which equals 8 years, 1 junior - 3 years, 3 sophs - 6 years and 5 freshmen - 5 years. Totaling 22 years, correct? This year you've got 1 senior - 4 years, 1 junior - 3 years, 6 sophs - 12 years and 4 freshmen - 4 years. That's 23 years, correct? Either way you slice it you've got more experience on this years team.
Now, onto the bet. It's just a little wager. You yourself said you thought this team was better than the team Horn took over. Being that in Horns first year he had 2 seniors(1 being a walkon), 6 juniors, and 3 sophmores... and next year the teams will be made up of 1 senior, 6 juniors, 3 sophmores and 1 freshmen. Basically, the difference in the two teams will be that one had a walkon senior and the other a scholly freshman. Seems pretty similar if you ask me. Not sure how you figure the one he took over had 'way more experience'. So, if you feel the current team is better, why wouldn't you back it up? This isn't rubbing anything in anyones face. It's I feel one way, you feel another, let's make it interesting between the two of us. You say that you won't degrade our program by arguing how bad we're going to be.... far from it! You'll be arguing for how good we're going to be. You should feel we will hit 21+ wins next year, no problem. C'mon man. All in good fun, just putting something on the line to back up our positions.

How so? We're on differing sides. No different than you saying the Patriots will win tomorrow and I say the Giants, then we decide to bet on it. He feels we're better now, I don't. If he feels that way, he should feel comfortable saying we'll match, or exceed, the win total from Horns first year next year. I say we're worse and I see no way we match or exceed that. Maklin and I are betting on it. Folks here have wagered before - stevecook and woodrowst put a bet on the USC vs CU game. He obviously feels strongly about it, so I'm offering him a chance to make some money.

I see your point, but I don't know if we can schedule 12 wins. Did anyone think Elon and Tennessee State were threats this year? Shouldn't we have been able to count Providence and/or Southern Cal as wins?

WOW! I didn't realize how terrible SoCal was. 6-17? Lost to UGA. Dang. Amazing. And Providence is struggling pretty bad too. 13-10, 2-8 in conference.
It's interesting to go back and look at some of the teams we've played.... Tenn St is 14-10 with loses to Austin Peay, Jacksonville St, Tenn Tech, Midd Tenn, Belmont, E. Kentucky. Whoa. Elon is 11-10 L's to App St, Samford, Columbia, GA So., Dartmoth. Geez.

You counted a soph who has no experience at this level, Brenton WIlliams, I don't know, I guess he is a JC guy. Bottom line, not more experienced. I will not bet with another fan who is betting on how bad we will be next year. period, end of story. Not productive, not the way fans should act. that is not supporting this team, or showing belief in our program. I do think we have more talent than when Horn took over, with the exception of Downey, who was just a hell of a college bball player, and a program changer for the time he was here. Take away Downey, this team is more talented. I believe in this team, and I believe we will be good next yr.

Odom had nothing to do with Downey and Frederick being here. The only player Odom signed on that list that was any good was Archie and Muldrow. On Horn's team right now Bruce Ellington, Anthony Gill, Lenorad, Harris and even Williams will turn out to be way better players than any on Odom's last team here.
