South Carolina picked up commitment number three Saturday when defensive end/linebacker Gerald Turner (Goose Creek/Goose Creek) committed to the Gamecocks.
Turner visited South Carolina Saturday for the scrimmage and shortly after the visit decided that South Carolina was where he was going to play his college ball.
South Carolina receiver coach Steve Spurrier Jr. is the recruiter for Turner and USC defensive line coach Brad Lawing was also heavily involved.
Turner held offers from South Carolina, Clemson, and North Carolina.
The Gamecocks will likely use Turner in a similar role to the way Eric Norwood was used at South Carolina.
Turner is a three-star prospect according to 247Sports and has an 87 rating.
